Aleppo

Last night I slept in a warm bed after having more than enough food to sustain me. I listened to beautiful Christmas music while I wrapped presents.A glass of red wine accompanied the meal that I ate, and I could feel the joy of this wondrous season.None of this is present in the lives of those trapped in Aleppo. Food is scarce ,and sleep is almost impossible with the ever present danger of air raids. There are no gifts to be wrapped, and instead of sharing presents they share only fear and hopelessness.

It is not enough to feel sad or horrified about Aleppo. We must do what little we can to ease their suffering. Please consider contributing to those who have the courage to intervene:

Here are 5 ways you too can contribute.

1. WHITE HELMETS

The local rescue force in Syria, White Helmets, has been conducting various camps, raising money, helping victims, etc. They are residents with no experience trying to make a change. Help them raise their funds by donating here.

2. DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS

The global organisation that is sending doctors and other medical aid for assistance in Syria needs donations, and you too can help them out here. There are hardly any doctors left there and it is a basic necessity, especially in a place where all you can hear is the sound of gunfire.
