Encouragement

“Keep away from people who belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
— Mark Twain

I had a friend in my travels who worked fpr a person that spent literally a year shooting down everything she attempted. At a conference she basically lied to another manager about my friend’s skills with the hope that the other manager would hire her. This occurred and the new manager in the initial interview celebrated the hire, and told my friend that he was going to dub her Ms.Magic because she came so highly recommended. Those encouraging words allowed her to sail and she became the most effective employee in the department. She had struggled in the prior job because she was demeaned and belittled, but now she was given encouragement and support. It is amazing what we achieve when others believe in us.
