Where everyone knows my name

One of the strongest human needs is the feeling of belonging to a group or community. In the sitcom “Cheers” the line that moved most of us to having a warm feeling was the one that identified the bar”as a place where everybody knows your name.”Coming from Jersey City I relate to that because there were many communities that were readily available. There was my neighborhood,my school and my church. It is not so easy today and there are some who are alone ,and in a sense”No one knows their name.”If possible as we approach the holiday season it would be worthwhile to reach out to anyone that is not part of the crowd, or who because of life’s circumstances is without roots and experiences daily the loneliness of no personal connections.
